Suver, OR – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood warning for the Luckiamute River near Suver, effective through midnight Friday. Minor flooding is expected to impact low-lying areas, including roads near Sarah Helmick State Park, Highway 99, and Parker Road.
According to NWS Portland, the river will crest later tonight as waters continue to rise. Floodwaters may appear shallow but could hide washed-out road surfaces, posing significant risks to drivers. Officials urge residents to avoid driving through flooded areas, emphasizing the motto, “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.”
Precautionary measures include monitoring local alerts and exercising extreme caution during nighttime hours when visibility is reduced. Residents in the affected areas are encouraged to secure belongings and prepare for potential disruptions.
