Green Bay, WI – Drivers in northern Wisconsin should prepare for slick road conditions tonight as freezing drizzle moves in. Light precipitation combined with below-freezing temperatures may create icy patches on untreated roads, sidewalks, and bridges.
According to the National Weather Service, the freezing drizzle and fog will spread across the region late tonight and into Thursday morning. Although precipitation is expected to remain light, areas with ground temperatures below freezing could experience a thin layer of ice. This may result in hazardous travel conditions, especially on untreated surfaces.
Road conditions should improve by Thursday afternoon as temperatures rise above freezing from the south. However, colder surfaces might remain icy longer. Motorists are advised to check road conditions before traveling and to drive with caution.
The National Weather Service recommends slowing down, keeping a safe distance from other vehicles, and staying informed on weather updates. Travelers should monitor local forecasts for any changes in conditions.
Be sure to exercise care, particularly in areas prone to freezing.
