Fort Worth, TX – Central Texas faces severe weather risks today as the National Weather Service issued a tornado watch until 7 p.m.
Forecasters warn of large hail up to two inches in diameter, scattered wind gusts reaching 70 mph, and the possibility of tornadoes. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Fort Worth, the watch covers areas including Houston, Conroe, Nacogdoches, and College Station. However, it excludes the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the I-35 corridor.
The NWS advises residents to remain alert for rapidly changing conditions and have safety plans in place. Severe storms could impact a population of over 8.7 million people, along with thousands of schools and hospitals in the affected region.
