Omaha, NE – Drivers along I-80 should prepare for low visibility today as a dense fog advisory remains in effect until noon. Patchy dense fog and drizzle are expected throughout the day, creating hazardous travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, visibility may drop to less than a quarter mile in some areas, particularly during the early morning hours. Temperatures will hover around 40°F, with light winds making road conditions slippery. Motorists are urged to use headlights, reduce speed, and maintain a safe following distance when traveling.

Looking ahead, Friday will bring a 30% chance of rain, with highs reaching the mid-40s. Overnight, temperatures will dip to the mid-30s, accompanied by lingering patchy fog. However, the weekend promises a shift to sunnier skies and warmer conditions, with Saturday and Sunday expected to see highs in the low to mid-50s.

Saturday will be mostly sunny with light southwest winds, making it an ideal day for post-holiday travel or outdoor activities. Sunday continues the trend with mild weather and mostly sunny skies, though temperatures will cool to the 30s overnight.

Travelers returning home after the holidays should plan for foggy conditions today and possible rain on Friday but can look forward to improved weather by the weekend. Stay updated on local forecasts for changes in weather conditions.
