Spokane, WA – Rain and snow will dominate the holiday weather forecast, impacting travel and outdoor plans across the region. Christmas Day will bring a mix of rain and snow showers, while heavier snow is expected in mountain areas Wednesday night into Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service, Spokane will see light rain through Christmas morning, transitioning into mixed snow and rain in the evening. Drivers heading through Stevens Pass or Snoqualmie Pass on Wednesday night should prepare for up to 12 inches of snowfall, creating hazardous travel conditions. Use extreme caution and check road conditions before traveling.

By Thursday, Spokane will experience a high near 42°F with additional rain and snow showers, mainly before noon. Winds may reach up to 21 mph in some areas. Conditions will remain wet through the weekend, with periodic rain showers on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures are forecast to range from highs in the mid-40s to lows in the 30s.

For travelers, the mountain passes will be particularly challenging through Thursday night, with significant snowfall accumulation and icy conditions. Local residents are encouraged to keep sidewalks and driveways clear of ice and snow and monitor updates from the National Weather Service.
