Aurora, IL – Aurora firefighters swiftly extinguished a two-alarm blaze Sunday evening at a single-family home on the 700 block of 2nd Avenue. Crews arrived around 6:32 p.m. to find heavy fire engulfing the roof and rear of the home’s second floor.
According to the Aurora Fire Department, 18 personnel responded, including four engines, two trucks, and two medic units. Firefighters launched an aggressive attack from the rear, overcoming obstructions at the front of the home. The fire was controlled within 36 minutes, with no reported injuries.
Crews confirmed the home was unoccupied, though a dog was rescued. One resident was evaluated on-site and released. The property was declared uninhabitable, with residents securing temporary housing nearby
