Alabama Christmas Eve Forecast: Dry Weather Expected Ahead of Weekend Rain in Huntsville

Huntsville, AL – Residents in North Alabama can enjoy clear skies and mild temperatures through Christmas Day before rain arrives later this week. Forecasters predict a tranquil holiday, perfect for outdoor activities, as highs reach the upper 50s to near 60.

According to the National Weather Service, Christmas Eve will remain sunny with highs around 58 degrees, followed by mostly clear skies tonight with a low near 36. On Christmas Day, expect another mild and sunny day with temperatures reaching up to 59 degrees. Winds will be calm, making outdoor gatherings ideal.

The weather pattern begins to shift late Wednesday, with clouds increasing and a slight chance of showers developing overnight. By Thursday night, a 20% chance of rain is expected, increasing significantly by Friday. Friday’s forecast calls for a 40% chance of rain and thunderstorms, which could impact travel plans for those returning home after the holiday.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday will bring even higher chances of showers and thunderstorms, with precipitation likely reaching 60%. Sunday may see lingering rain before drier conditions return. Temperatures will remain mild throughout the week, with daytime highs ranging from the mid-50s to mid-60s.

Drivers are encouraged to monitor road conditions on major routes like Interstate 565 and U.S. Highway 231 as rain moves in. Be sure to check for weather updates to plan your holiday travel safely.
