Graphic Packaging International, a company that makes food packaging, is paying almost $1 million to settle a lawsuit. The lawsuit says they did something wrong with people’s personal information. The company used hand-scanning machines for their workers, but they didn’t ask permission the right way or have a plan for how to keep the information safe. Address Updates Necessary for Eligible Workers to Claim $1,000 from Privacy Settlement
If you used one of their hand-scanning machines in Centralia, Illinois, between June 29, 2016, and September 1, 2021, you might get around $1,000. You don’t have to fill out a form to get the money, but you need to make sure they have your correct address. After they give out the first checks, they’ll share any extra money left over. This helps everyone get a fair share. The settlement still needs final approval, which will happen on June 11, 2024. So, if you’re eligible, make sure to update your address so you can get the money.
