$2,100 in Tax Credit in Pennsylvania
Tax credit is very important for Americans across the country during this time of tax season. It is also very timely amidst the increasing or rising inflation rate. In Pennsylvania, Gov. Josh Shapiro said that an amount of up to $2,100 will be sent to eligible taxpayers.
In a published article in The U.S. Sun, Pennsylvania recently passed a new child tax credit that aims to help families with dependents. The amount that eligible residents and taxpayers will receive in the state will increase under the new.
Amount of Tax Credit To Be Received
According to an article published in York Dispatch, the amount of tax credit will depend on the family’s income and how many children they have. Here is the breakdown:
- For Pennsylvanians that make less than $43,000 per year, their maximum tax credit will increase from $315 to $1,050 for one child.
- If they have two or more children, their tax credit will increase from $630 to $2,100.
- For residents earning more than $43,000, the maximum tax credit will increase from $180 to $600 for one child.
- For two or more children, the tax credit will increase from $360 to $1,200.
Furthermore, they also need to meet the two criteria set in this tax credit. First, participants must have paid for the care of a dependent child under the age of 13. Second is that the person the participant cared for must have lived in the household for more than six months.
