The woman who is suspected of assaulting a stranger outside a Manhattan pizza shop and slashing him in the face there made a threat to add a judge to her list of victims after being detained on a New York City street on Monday.
A Woman Named Ola Albanni Was Arrested On New York City Street
According to the New York Post, the woman accused of stabbing a passerby in the face outside a Manhattan pizzeria is also accused of punching a bystander on New York City Street, and she allegedly threatened to add a judge to her list of victims on Monday.
The woman arrested in New York City Street, named Ola Albanni threatened Judge Miriam Best at her arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court, saying, “I’m going to slash you in the face too if you put me in the cell for a long time.”
Following a second repetition of the threat and a minute-long rant during the hearing, Albanni, 52 years old, of Hoboken, New Jersey, was removed from court and brought for a mental health evaluation, per Best’s order.
Woman Arrested In New York City Street Threatens to Do the Same To Judge
According to court documents, Albanni, who attended the hearing wearing a furry black jacket and short trousers with silver sequins, acknowledged the indiscriminate cutting while still holding the blade in her bag.
At her arraignment in the May case, Albanni was released without posting bail, according to court documents.
A representative for the Manhattan District Attorney’s office stated she was not eligible for bail for the misdemeanor assault and menacing rap charges she was facing at the time.
Albanni, however, had an outstanding arrest warrant at the time of the attack on Friday because she had skipped court to appear in a previous case.
Due to the stabbing on Friday, she could spend up to 25 years in prison.
