Why Are Dogs Better Than Cats?

There’s a reason why Disney’s favourite dog character is named Goofy. Aptly put, dogs are better than all other pets combined, including cats! (We might be biased…) Whether you’re searching for an overwhelmingly loyal friend, a good kisser, or someone who never gets annoyed by your presence, a dog gives you everything you want and then some.

This age-old debate of dogs vs cats is absurd if you ask us. Who in the world chooses a pet who moonlights as a dustbin over one with an adorable wagging tail, expressive eyes, and an undying loyalty? No one, that’s who!

If you need more convincing, we’ll give you a handful of reasons to choose a “pawsome” pooch over a grumpy feline!

1 – Dogs won’t try to kill you.

While Fido barks and bites with the faintest sign of danger, it’s all out of excitement and a desire to protect you. Snakes, spiders, and rats, beware – with a dog by your side, you’re guaranteed 24/7 security.

How about a cat? Well, they’ll murder you in your sleep if you don’t give them enough food. There’s a reason why the TV show “My Cat From Hell” is massively popular!

2 – Cats seem to be grumpy all the time.

Is it just us, or does it seem like cats are always in a bad mood? Even when they’re not, their resting face makes them look like they want to hurt someone.

On the other hand, dogs are perpetually happy (even when they’re sad). They make great listeners and will always be by your side, no matter your mood. Are you having the worst day at work? Come home to a dog, and you’ll forget you have a bad life.

3 – Dogs are great kissers.

Have you ever tried kissing a cat? It’s not exactly pleasant. They don’t know how to close their eyes, and their tongues feel like sandpaper.

On the other hand, dogs are passionate lovers and make excellent kissing partners. They’re always down for a smooch, no matter how good or bad you look.

4 – Dogs will never judge you.

Cats are judgmental creatures who will constantly size you up. They’ll also give you the silent treatment if they don’t like what they see.

Dogs, on the other hand, will love you no matter what. They’ll never judge you for your looks, weight, or bank balance. They only care about being by your side – something cats can never understand.

5 – Dogs make excellent cuddle buddies.

Cats might purr when you pet them, but they’re not exactly the cuddling type. Meanwhile, dogs are born to cuddle. They love nothing more than curling up on your lap and soaking up all the love you have to offer.
Dogs get attached to their human companions, while cats will plot revenge the moment you leave the room.

6 – Dogs do tricks; cats do nothing.

Dogs are highly intelligent creatures who can be trained to do all sorts of tricks. They sit, stay, roll over, and even play dead!
Cats, on the other hand, couldn’t care less. They’re only good at sleeping and looking cute (and even that’s debatable). Try training your cat to play dead – you end up with nothing other than a death stare!

7 – You mean the world to your dog; cats want nothing but food and a roof from you.

Dogs are loyal to a fault, while cats couldn’t care less about their owners. As long as they have food and a comfy bed, they’re happy!

No matter how much your cat pretends to love you, they’ll always choose food over you. And if you don’t believe us, try going a day without feeding them. They’ll be out the door faster than you can say “cat food”!

8 – Dogs will always be there for you; cats will leave you in a heartbeat.

Dogs are known for their loyalty, while cats couldn’t care less about anything than themselves. Cats are known for their independent streak. If you’re looking for a companion who will stick by you through thick and thin, a dog is definitely the way to go.

There’s no argument here. Dogs are better than cats, hands down! But that’s just us. For one reason or another, some people choose cats over dogs, and we respect them. But we’ll never understand why!
