Recent Development in Oak Creek High School Investigation
Third Investigation Ordered by Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge
According to Fox 6, in a recent development concerning the investigation into a potentially inappropriate relationship between an Oak Creek High School teacher and a student new information emerged when a different teacher overheard comments made by the student months later. This revelation came from the release of a third investigation ordered by a Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge after former teacher Rachel Goodle, 22, sued her former employer twice to prevent its release. Goodle faces charges of second-degree sexual assault of a child and sexual assault of a student by staff stemming from allegations dating back to December 2, 2022 when prosecutors claim she engaged in sexual activity with a student inside her classroom before attending a junior varsity basketball game.

District’s Handling of Allegations Involving Goodle
Initially, the district’s response upon learning of the allegations in January 2023 resulted in findings of Goodle’s violation of the employee handbook labeling her conduct as “unacceptable and inappropriate.” Despite discrepancies in Goodle’s statements during the investigation the district settled on a 10-day suspension later reduced to four days after a meeting with then-superintendent Dan Unertl. A subsequent third investigation in May 2023 was prompted by a teacher overhearing the student’s comment about cheating with a teacher. This led to police involvement and interviews confirming the student’s claim of sexual intercourse with Goodle which allegedly occurred while she was absent from the building. As the investigation unfolded Goodle was on leave from work due to a worker’s compensation claim filed since March 2023, eventually resigning from her position at Oak Creek High School in June. Despite repeated attempts to solicit comments from the Oak Creek-Franklin Joint School District regarding their handling of the investigation, they declined to participate. Goodle is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing on April 4 with her trial set to commence on April 22.
