It’s finally patio season! Here’s a list of 9 of the best dog-friendly patios in Vancouver to visit this month.
It may be a little later than we expected, but patio season has finally arrived in Vancouver and if you want to soak up the sun with a few cocktails without having to leave your pups at home, we’re with you!
Luckily, there’s some great spots in Vancouver that allow you to keep your pup nearby so they don’t have to miss out on any of the summer fun.
The City of Vancouver does not allow dogs on patios that serve food, but the curated list below offers the perfect spot to tie your dog up by your side while you grab a bite or a happy hour drink – and some restaurants will even give your dog water, treats, and plenty of shade from the sun!
Here are 9 of the best patios in Vancouver to enjoy with your furry besties this month.
1. Mahony & Sons False Creek
Located on the water at False Creek, this Irish pub has one of the most popular patios in the city thanks to its incredible views. This location is perfect on a hot August afternoon as it gets lots of sun, but with huge umbrellas your pup get get plenty of shade while they are tied up right beside your table.
Mahony & Sons also has a special sectioned-off patio just for dogs and their humans, so be sure to let staff know you have a dog with you to access it.

2. Red Truck Beer Company
Love beer and dogs? So does Red Truck Beer which is why they made their brewery super dog-friendly! They love welcoming your furry friends to their sun-drenched patio – don’t worry, there’s plenty of umbrellas for your pups.
They offer ‘puppy parking’ with free doggy treats and water bowls at the brewery, as well as a park next door so bring your best friend along.

This one is doubly good as there’s two great locations to choose from. Both of Local’s locations in Kitsilano and Gastown have large patios that offer a dog-friendly area.
The friendly staff at both places will happily provide water for your pup while you work your way through their cocktail list, and you can tie your pup up in the shade so they don’t feel left out!

4. Tap & Barrel Olympic Village
Any Vancouverite will know that the Tap & Barrel patios are some of the best around, and the Olympic Village location is one of our favourites. Located on the False Creek seawall, this location has it all. The same huge selection of beers and wines, great views across the water AND they will place dog owners on tables near a tie-up space alongside the patio fence.
This means your pup can be close by the whole time and get lots of your attention while you work your way through the extensive drinks menu, without any guilt!
