Salt Lake City’s Weather Is About to Take a Wild Turn—Here’s What to Expect!

It’s one of those weeks in Salt Lake City where Mother Nature can’t quite make up her mind — but in the best way possible. After a brisk start, we’re heading into warmer, sunnier days that feel like a proper welcome to spring.

Friday, April 18 – Still Holding On to That Chill

  • High: 51°F

  • Low: 34°F

  • Outlook: A bit gloomy early on, with some sunshine later. Still cool and breezy.

Let’s be real — you’re going to need a jacket. Friday starts off cloudy and chilly, with a bit of wind in the mix. But the sun should peek out later, making it slightly more bearable. It’s a good day for indoor errands, hot coffee, or layering up for a brisk walk.

Saturday, April 19 – A Gentle Warm-Up

  • High: 56°F

  • Low: 45°F

  • Outlook: Partly sunny and a little milder.

The weather starts to shift Saturday. It’s not “shorts and sandals” weather yet, but it’s getting there. You can probably ditch the heavy coat, and it’ll be a pleasant day to be outside — maybe a stroll around Sugar House or grabbing lunch on a patio if you’re feeling brave.

Sunday, April 20 – Now That’s More Like It

  • High: 68°F

  • Low: 48°F

  • Outlook: Mostly sunny and finally warm.

This is what we’ve been waiting for. Sunday brings the kind of spring day that makes you want to do everything outside — hike, bike, brunch, you name it. Highs in the upper 60s and sunshine will have the whole city waking up from its winter slumber.

Monday, April 21 – Cloudy Start, Better Finish

  • High: 65°F

  • Low: 44°F

  • Outlook: Cloudy in the morning, then sunshine sneaks back in.

Monday might look a little blah in the morning, but don’t let it fool you — it gets better. The sun should break through by midday, and temps stay nicely in the 60s. A great day to ease back into the workweek without feeling stuck inside.

Tuesday, April 22 – Spring Perfection

  • High: 70°F

  • Low: 50°F

  • Outlook: Sunny, calm, and downright lovely.

This one’s the gem of the week. With warm, dry air and clear skies, Tuesday is practically begging you to take your lunch outside or sneak out of work early for a trail walk. These are the kind of spring days we dream about.

Wednesday, April 23 – Comfortable With a Few Clouds

  • High: 68°F

  • Low: 51°F

  • Outlook: A little more cloud cover, but still warm and pleasant.

It won’t be quite as dazzling as Tuesday, but it’s still a solid spring day. Expect a few more clouds, maybe a light breeze — nothing to complain about. Perfect for running errands, catching up with a friend, or just getting out for fresh air.

Thursday, April 24 – Feeling Almost Like Summer

  • High: 74°F

  • Low: 54°F

  • Outlook: Warm, mostly sunny, and dry.

We’ll wrap the week on a high note — literally. With temps climbing into the 70s, Thursday could pass for early summer. It’s a great day for a backyard dinner, park meetup, or even busting out the sunscreen if you’re going to be out for long.

Wrapping It Up

This week brings a little bit of everything — lingering chill, steady warmth, and a few nearly perfect days in between. It’s a great reminder that spring in Salt Lake is all about change, and that’s part of the charm. So, dress in layers, check the sky before you head out, and enjoy every bit of sunshine we get.
