There are often instances where police traffic stops uncover large quantities of drugs. Typically, this happens when people are trying to traffic narcotics in order to try and sell them. However, there are other circumstances where drugs can be unearthed. Recently, a person on a boat discovered some that could have easily entered the illegal drug market in the U.S.
Traffic stops aren’t the only way illegal drugs can be found
According to WSVN, a person traveling on a boat over the weekend made a startling discovery. In fact, the person found a reported 25 brocks of cocaine floating on a burlap sack. This discovery happened off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Of course, finding this would lead to a ton of fear for anyone. This fear is valid because you don’t know what other dangerous activity this could be associated with.
As mentioned, traffic stops often uncover illegal drugs. However, the amount of cocaine found in the burlap sack is unimaginable. The report says that it was about 65 pounds worth of the hardcore drug. Naturally, the Border Patrol agents seized the cocaine, and they are in the process of determining where it came from. This is necessary because cocaine is a dangerous drug, and officials need to know why it was abandoned the way it was.
Though not as common as police traffic stops, it’s not unheard of for officials to find drugs entering the country at borders. Still, this is an odd way for this volume of cocaine to show up on U.S. waters. Only time will tell where it came from and why it was left floating the way it was.
