The driver only had a cut on the finger after the incident.
Police officers conduct traffic stops for all sorts of reasons. They can be routine, or a person could be subjected to a traffic stop because of a road violation. However, it’s always best to comply. Recently, a New York driver tried to evade one and ended up crashing into a person’s home.
The decision to evade a traffic stop can have far-reaching consequences
According to WWNY TV, a police officer in Ogdensburg, New York, tried to pull a man over for a traffic stop on January 20th. Sadly, the driver refused to comply, which prompted a high-speed police chase. As with most police chases, this went on for a while and could have caused other dangerous car wrecks. Luckily, this didn’t happen, and no one else on the road became injured due to the driver’s actions.
The police on the scene continued trying to make the traffic stop. Things intensified as it went on, and the driver hit an uninvolved vehicle. The good thing is that it doesn’t sound like the impacted vehicle was occupied then. However, this caused the suspect’s car to run off the road and then crash into someone’s home. This happened shortly after 11 am. The residence was located on New York Avenue.
So, this high-speed chase ended with a forced traffic stop and a person with damage to their home. Still, the person behind the wheel left with only a cut on the finger. Naturally, the person is in jail now, but the investigation is ongoing.
