A slippery Florida man in an SUV smashed around cop cars at high speed in a vain attempt to get away.
Would you expect any less of a “Florida man” story? A driver in a BMW SUV hit speeds above 120 mph to give highway patrol officers the slip. The police officers rammed the runaway SUV repeatedly, and the driver refused to relent until multiple cop cars boxed him in on the side of the highway.

A video with tens of thousands of likes shows the dash cam footage of a police officer chasing a gray BMW X3 SUV. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) officer swerves back and forth on the Tampa highway as it gets in position to ram the BMW.
The X3 reportedly hit speeds over 120 mph as it tried to give the police the slip. However, another FHP Dodge Charger blocked the Bimmer in, preventing it from speeding away. The chase vehicle missed the X3’s quarter panel, instead striking its rear bumper.
The hit forced the BMW SUV up off of its rear wheels and onto the left-hand barrier of the highway. Shockingly, the X3 comes back down onto the hood of the pursuing police car. However, other units boxed the damaged SUV in, leaving nowhere else for it to run.
As expected, social media commentary was a bit, well, unhinged. One viewer joked, “Average BMW owner (I own a BMW).” Another commenter took the more dramatic approach. “Send him to jail… forever!” the viewer said.
One misinformed social media-goer commented, “I’m honestly shocked that Karenmobile can reach 120 mph.” While the third-generation BMW X3 is a far cry from an M3 or an M5, 120 mph isn’t an impossibility for the SUV.
The Bavarian brand asserts that a late-model G01 X3 M40i with the same B58 inline-six-cylinder engine as the rocket ship-esque BMW M240i can hit 155 mph. Consequently, the upper-trim BMW SUV is certainly not a “Karenmobile.” However, the more tame xDrive30i will do closer to 130 mph.
