Two Hikers Rescued from Cowles Mountain Trail in Separate Incidents

San Diego Fire-Rescue Department crews responded Monday to two open-space rescues on the Cowles Mountain trail in the Mission Trails Regional Park.

The first call came in just before 11:30 a.m. for a rescue at 1 Father Junipero Serra Trail, an official said.

Around 12:45 p.m., crews rescued a second person in need of assistance on the trail, according to the official.

Details about the individuals or their injuries were not immediately available.

A total of 36 personnel, including two medics and three engines, were involved in the rescue efforts, according to SDFD.
