 According to Finger Lakes in a bid to alleviate financial strain on low and middle-income families grappling with soaring living costs New York legislators are championing a $500 million tax credit initiative as part of the 2024-25 state budget. The tax credit  proposed measure aims to bolster the Working Families Tax Credit potentially providing up to $550 per child for eligible taxpayers over a five-year phase-in period. With the affordability crisis looming large due to escalating expenses in essentials like food, utilities, and rent proponents argue that this initiative of tax credit could inject much-needed relief into household budgets.
