Father-Son Duo Deepens Bond Through Fort Jackson
According to WISTV, Col. Timothy Hickman, the Garrison Commander at Fort Jackson, having taken command a few months ago has revealed that his father was a retired Army chaplain at Fort Jackson 22 years ago.
Timothy Hickman grew up a “military brat,” he and his family followed his father around the country and to Germany during his career as an Army chaplain.
John Hickman, father of the present Garrison Commander, revealed that Timothy always wanted to be a military officer and his promotion ceremony to Colonel was an interesting picture he showed to people.

Fort Jackson is A Circle Moment for Father-Son Duo
According to the same article, Tim Hickman being at Fort Jackson was a full-circle moment for the duo as John started his career in military service by training at the same facility where his son is currently in command.
The common thread between the father and son of the Army has bound them together and allows conversation they might not be able to have otherwise.
