According to US News, Apple Inc. has agreed to pay $25 million to settle the claims by the US Department of Justice that Apple Inc. has illegally favored immigrant workers over US workers and green card holders for particular jobs.
The Justice Department claimed in a statement that the electronic company did not recruit US citizens or permanent residents for jobs that were eligible for a federal program allowing employers to sponsor immigrant workers. Thus, it claims that it is a violation of federal law that bars discrimination based on citizenship.

Apple States Favoring Immigrant Workers was Unintentional
According to The Blaze, Apple stated that favoring immigrant workers was unintentional and added that the company has implemented a remediation plan to comply with the requirements of the federal government as they continue to hire American workers.
The US Justice Department states that Apple did not advertise any job openings and what was the eligibility of the programs. However, the Justice Department did not specify which Apple jobs were affected by the recruitment of the immigrant workers or how Apple benefited from them.
