From the Published news of Law&Crime, Vanessa Lavaty, 34, was first accused in a first-degree solicitation case, but a week before trial, she accepted a deal and admitted to plotting his ex-fiancé’s death. She consented to serve between four and sixteen years in prison in exchange. Her destiny will be decided by El Paso County Judge William Moller at a later time.

Timothy Hanes was the target of Vanessa Lavaty’s plotting of his ex-fiancé’s death. She reportedly told her live-in partner, Marty Jorgensen, “I want his a- buried,” according to documents from The Gazette.  Jorgensen, however, refused to comply. He instead went to the police. Police organized a sting operation in which an undercover cop going by the name of “Josh” pretended to be a hitman to complete the plotting of his ex-fiancé’s death. When asked whether she was certain she wanted Hanes killed, Lavaty responded that she was and gave him $500 as a down payment.

To have Haynes killed, Lavaty was prepared to spend between $2,000 and $4,000 to plot his ex-fiancé’s death. After a few weeks, Jorgensen realized she was serious when she said she wanted Hanes killed. Initially, he had not taken her remarks seriously. She said that Hanes should be “six feet under.” Hanes informed KRDO that Lavaty had attempted to kill him because they were planning to split custody of their daughter 50/50. It has been quite challenging, said Hanes. He hasn’t slept well or gone a night without clenching his teeth because he was afraid a tree branch would break in the yard. Because he is aware that the walls are closing more and more tightly, the situation is now worse. He is in a very difficult circumstance.
