Driving can be daunting, particularly when traveling on backroads, dealing with traffic, extreme weather, or navigating dangerous highways. This article highlights ten of the deadliest roads you may encounter during your trip.

According to Zebra, highways in the U.S.A. were analyzed, and the ones with the highest number of fatal accidents from 2019 to 2021 were identified from the data of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). According to the data, six out of ten deadliest roads were north-south. I-95 on the East Coast had the highest fatality rate per 100 miles, and US-41 was the only non-interstate highway on the list.

Here are some of the deadliest roads in the U.S.A., according to Move Org.:

  1. The Million Dollar Highway in Colorado.
  2. Interstate 4 in Florida.
  3. The Taconic State Parkway in New York.
  4. Interstate 5 in Southern California.
  5. Route 285 in West Texas.

Other dangerous highways include Loop 1604 in San Antonio, I-20 in Dallas Fort Worth, and Highway 17 in South Carolina. Drivers must be prepared while driving for the sudden curves and perilous conditions they might encounter.
